Looking for fall foliage isn't always as easy as it ought to be. Yesterday, my husband and We drove over 130 miles. Some of my favorite places previously were not so colorful this season. There were times when several trees stood out among the remainder with their brilliant colors. Maybe this really is an event that only happens during the prime years from the individual tree in question. Maybe it has something related to the amount of annual rain fall, or the quality of the soil in a given time, or if there's been a frost yet. We have not had one yet this drop. I do not know exactly what the variables are, but it doesn't seem to come out the same more often than once or twice. Or... maybe I'm too fussy. Today, the second day in our series of trips, we went again. This time, we going south, toward Cooperstown. We left home heading down routes 233 and 20, as well as we came home through Utica. In route down, the only thing I saw worth going for a photograph of was a protected
bridge. My husband said we could catch it in route back. The sky was really overcast, so I did not really argue. We did not travel this way coming home, but there are lots of photographs of covered bridges close to. I was glad that we were doing other activities, because it was over cast until right before sunset. There was not much fall foliage to become admired. On the way house, just before sunset, some from the scenery began to look very pretty. The unfortunate part was it would not happen at the convenient time. There was a curve or perhaps a hill top that could very easily get us rear-ended had all of us stopped to pull over. The 3rd day, it was very wet, so we went antiquing within the Madison Bouckville area of Ny State. Now that was the learning experience! Not much to determine, though in the area associated with fall foliage. We bought celery and honey instead. The first day have been so autumn like, that I possibly could not stop thinking about celery. Copyright
Sally Willson 2007The fourth day was the very best for color. This trip took us towards the Finger Lakes region in wines country. We drove on route 20 East to obtain home, and the colors were near to magnificent! It was up and down hillsides completely, but that was the ride to consider for fall color viewing! By time our honeymoon was over, we'd driven close to 700 kilometers. Of course there were other things you can do, but I think that should you really set your mind into it, and get busy, you can get what you are searching for when it comes to the wonder of autumn!
