It was a cool, vibrant, morning. The Goodyear Blimp had been flying overhead making its method toward the Waste Management Open up Golf Tournament in Phoenix. Little did the pilot realize that another monumental sports feat was going to happen at the Valle de Oro golf ball field in East Mesa, Az. On that beautiful day, Sally Represents, at the ripe ole grow older of 55, hit her first home run on her team, the Stingers. All my close family and friends were told as quickly when i could get the word away. In fact if I had the money to achieve the blimp fly a banner at the rear of it to celebrate the event, I certainly would have carried out so. Hitting a home run in softball may be on my Bucket List of things I needed to do before I pass away, for many years. I've already been playing senior women's softball with regard to five years, and the closest I've arrived at a homer was when I hit two triples in a single game, four years ago. I played ball after i was in junior high and senior high school, and I never hit a house run in the six many years I played. In fact, I don't even think I hit a homer after i played in the front yard with my buddy and neighborhood chums. But, let's get this story back to the present century. Lately, I have had poopy little hits that never begin to see the green grass of the outfield. Actually, I have not hit anything much better than a single all season lengthy. But today was different. I began my day much when i have in other games. We hit a ground ball in order to short stop - twice. Once I beat it out for any single, the other time these people nailed me. However, when I went up to bat next time, I recalled a dream I'd the night before. I can't remember the facts, but the crux of it had been to use anger as fuel hitting the ball. Since I'm quite a good-natured person, this isn't always possible for me. But this time I chose to put my nocturnal messages in order to good use. There were two outs with no one on base. I stood in the plate and thought of the scenario that made me upset - real angry. As I waited for that right pitch, I growled below my breath. I am unsure if the catcher or umpire might hear me, but I did this loud enough which i could hear myself. I swung hard and associated with the ball. It sailed in to center field. I ran difficult to first base. The fielder missed the ball also it rolled past her. I needed to keep going. I rounded 2nd and Shirley, the third bottom coach, motioned for me to maintain going. I ran toward the woman's, fully expecting her to have me stop having a triple. But she didn't. She waved personally to keep going. Not someone to argue, I picked up the speed and crossed the plate as time passes to spare. Everyone on the team arrived on the scene to congratulate me. I jumped down and up with delight. Everyone joked how the Goodyear Blimp was there in order to witness this historical occasion. My homer sparked a two-out rally and much more runs were scored, although I can not tell you how many. Next time I was up to softball bat, I saw something I experienced never witnessed before. The fielders saw me and supported a few feet. I is at heaven. I hit another great hit, as did several in our players. We played our greatest game ever and won 15-0. Ironically, two days ago within our game before the tournament, the actual Stingers were stinkers. We could not hit, we bobbled the ball and made errors that appeared as if they came straight out of the Three Stooges movie. But, just like in life, we put this behind us and moved ahead. After our first victory within the tournament, we played a 2nd game against our arch competition, The Desert Stars. We received again! That puts us 2 and 0 for that tournament. If it doesn't rainfall tomorrow, we will be from it again. We just may win our first tournament. Okay, you might ask. What is the morale of the story? I thought about currently talking about using anger in a good way. I also thought in regards to a little ditty on friendship or the ability of perseverance. Any of these topics works. But somehow I don't wish to elaborate on that. I would like to tell everyone that I hit a house run today and I'm 1 happy ball player. It may have taken five . 5 decades, but I did this. And I just wanted in order to celebrate this moment with everyone. And also to let you know that it's never too late to accomplish your dreams. So never, actually, pull yourself out of the overall game. Hang in there and keep on swinging - regardless of what.
